Meet Jake Southerland
Jake Southerland is a recent American MA graduate in International Relations from Leiden University. While currently navigating the job market, he is also contributing to two geopolitical startups: Geopol Report and the British Institute of Global Affairs, where he authors in-depth reports on European security and Nordic geopolitics.
Jake is eager to take his first step toward building a career in the Nordic region, whether in research, media analysis, or as a geopolitical analyst. He’s had the chance to explore Oslo, Helsinki, and Reykjavik enjoying local delicacies such as Brunost, korvapuusti, and skyr, but hasn’t yet visited Stockholm or Copenhagen, two cities he’s heard nothing but great things about.
